Either by working on some of the studio’s original ideas or collaborating with other studios as an art and development outsourcing company, you’ll find there’s always work to do. Responsibilities and Requirements

As Lead Animator, you have a comprehensive foundational knowledge of animation fundamentals, have worked extensively with industry-standard technologies, and have previously worked with AA/AAA games. You should also have strong management skills, as you will be responsible for multiple teams of 3-7 animators each.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Guide the Animation team through the following actions:
    • Overlooking the animators’ tasks and providing feedback on their work
    • Assisting where is needed
    • Making sure that every member of the team gets the help and support they require to complete their tasks
  • Being able to create detailed and complex animations that adhere to game logic and align with the director’s creative vision
  • Identify and analyse animation requirements and help find new tools and processes to aid in the production stage
  • Being able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
  • Being able to work at the office in Aalborg, Denmark

About You

Ideally, you are an animator with robust management skills and at least two years of experience being a Lead or Manager. You should also have at least five years of experience working as a game animator on AA or AAA games with strong foundational animation skills and knowledge of animation principles, pipelines, and best practices.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a game animator on AA/AAA games
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a lead or manager
  • Have strong foundational knowledge of animation principles and pipelines
  • Comprehensive understanding of animation skills (such as rigging)
  • Want to work as a lead in games projects
  • Have experience working with standard game animation software, like Maya, Blender, Motionbuilder, etc.
